Missions – Outreach Ministries

…A Community Reaching Out

Our missions goal is to continue to serve with outreach-locally, nationally and internationally.

Local Missions Outreach

The Good Samaritan Food Pantry helps families within our local community. Our church volunteers distribute food twice a month. Our congregation remains faithful in supplying the item of the month. Also, we rely on the fall Sukkoth Booth to supply non-perishable items for holiday distribution. With the closing of St. Mark’s food pantry, out clientele will increase over the next few months but with God’s provisions we will meet the challenge.

We also support these additional local outreach ministries:
Prison Ministry
8th Avenue Place Support
South Allegheny School Outreach

National Missions

Each year volunteers from our church go on a mission trip to Heart and Hand Ministries in Philippi, WV. In the summer of 2019, 9 adults and 8 youth/children made the trip. With help from a partner church we were able to add an addition to a structure a gentleman was living in after a fire destroyed his home. Volunteers worked in the layette section and organized and set up items we purchased with our Mother’s Day Tribute monies and supplies were purchased from our Father’s Day Tribute collection.

International Missions

In July 2019, one of the members of our congregation, Ruth Sabo, went on a mission trip to Zimbabwe, Africa. During her trip she was able to visit orphanages and training facilities. She also reconnected with a family she stayed with on a previous trip to that country.

We continue to serve the Lord by serving those who are in need locally, nationally and internationally. We thank God for the opportunity to serve.
