Promoting wellness in Body, Mind, & Spirit. 

The Telephone Outreach Ministry (TOM) contacts parishioners before and or after their hospital or rehab stays. These calls and visits provide a connection to the church family, also health education or referrals to social service have been made through this outreach. TOM volunteers can provide meals to parishioner/family after their hospital stay. 

Blood Pressure screening  2nd Sundays at the church. This includes Oxygen saturation measurement and medication teaching with the parishioners. 

Provides Yellow Dot (Pa State Dept of Transportation) which provides information to first responders in case of an automobile accident. 

They manage the church defibrillator and test on a routine basis and  replenish the first aid box as needed.  

They provide information about the Allegheny County Lead Safe Home program.

They provide information about microchipping pets. 

They provide literature and education about Ticks during Touch A Truck event. 

Participating in WPAUMC camping initiative Deeply Rooted & Upward Reaching to Christian Camping Scholarships. 

Two of our nurses have completed the Westberg Institute Faith Community Nursing program presented by Pittsburgh Mercy Parish Nurse & Health Ministry Program and are certificated as Community Faith Nurses. 

The Wellness Committee welcomes your participation and ideas. They especially would like to be able to collaborate with other groups within the church. If your group would like a speaker, they may be able to find one for you. They want YOUR ideas of how they can be of service.
